Technical support and detailed engineering design of the plant. The service is often declined in different ways, depending on the interest of our client who may be the owner of the plant (owner’s eng.) or a possible buyer (Due Dil.) or an EPC that has received a turnkey assignment and needs the detailed design of the system.

Renewables
Project development or co-development

A Seapower division is dedicated to the design of photovoltaic and wind farms, on land as well as at sea, combining several skills and capacities into a single interdisciplinary team. Services offered may include preliminary, final and executive design as well as technical services related to the construction site, RSP, RSE, construction management, and testing. Current projects include both hundreds of kW sizes on industrial rooftops and hundreds of MW sizes on the ground, with dedicated HV substations. Special expertise has been acquired for agri-voltaic plants, designed according to national guidelines.

Technological advancement

SEAPOWER’s expertise over the years has been mainly in the development of systems for renewable energy from wind and sea, with a focus on energy from sea currents and waves. Design services in this area address both the conceptual design of new products and the technological improvement of existing machines/plants through re-powering of wind power plants or optimization of components.

Seapower’s activities focus on design and numerical simulations, as well experimental investigations carried out first in a controlled environment and on small-scale models and then in the field, on full-scale demonstrators (systems tested on land and at sea). This significant experience has given rise to some specific skills related, for example, to the interaction of bodies with waves, the determination of their motion and the loads acting on structures immersed in water and subjected to wave motion.

Renewables
Floating wind farms

Seapower offers well-established knowledge and expertise in marine, structural and hydrodynamic design, which apply well to the floating wind sector. In addition to positioning itself as a technical consultant for analysis and design activities, Seapower has developed its own innovative platform for floating wind systems, which has already been built and tested in a model scale experimental campaign. In addition, the company has been awarded research and development projects co-funded by the European Commission to advance the state of the art in the field of floating wind turbines.
