Research & development

Seapower has a long experience in public R&D projects co-funded by Italian ministries, regions and also directly by the European Communities in the Horizon 2020 (2014-20) and Horizon Europe (2021-27) seven-year programs. Some members of the research center are expert evaluators, on behalf of the European Commission, of R&D projects in the renewable sector. On the strength of these experiences, today Seapower is able to offer valuable technical support to its clients in drafting R&D proposals to apply for public co-funding of all types and levels.

SEAPOWER has been active for years in the realization of a unique project, for which it has instructed the appropriate authorization applications, also being part of the plan to divide the coastline of Villa San Giovanni (RC). This is the Strait Laboratory, a new open-air space in the Strait of Messina area, which could become an enviable research facility on a global scale, as well as a showcase for Southern Italy. The laboratory is equipped with systems and anchors ready to accommodate anyone who wants to test a prototype for the production of energy from currents in the open sea in a particularly favorable and interesting area both in terms of location and climate
